Just when you thought migrating to Domino 8 was going to be easy (For your users). Lotus has changed most of the menu options, including the basic concepts and terminologies we’ve all become accustomed to. For example below is the Domino 7 and now Domino 8 wording.
- Bookmarks in 7 are now Open lists in 8
- Personal Address Book in 7 is now Contacts in 8
- Welcome page in 7 is now Home page in 8
- Databases in 7 are now Notes Applications in 8
Some menu changes are text, some are new, and some are relocated. Which is why I’m writing this document. I prefer the shortcut keys to the mouse when I’m working. These new changes have required me to use the mouse until I relearn the keys. It’s a pain and will cause us a problem when upgrading our user community. I believe this is just an inconvenience for my developers and administrators, however the user community will probably not be happy. I’ll post any idea’s I have for handling this and if you have any ideas please post below.
